About Us... Mission & Vision

The mission is simple. Providing customers with a means of escape by providing products that are reasonably priced, challenging, original, and most of all - fun.

Why Hidden Sanctum?

As a fan of old time radio programs, the name is based on a love of those old favorites such as Suspense, The Shadow, The Green Hornet, but most of all The Inner Sanctum. The idea of a sanctum - a place of retreat where you could go to relax, think, and create - a place to escape to.

About Us

Eric

Eric has been writing code since the early 80's starting on the Commodore 64. He learned programming by typing in games from the now defunct Compute! magazines as well as several others that were around at the time. The creativity appealed to his artistic side, yet he loved the challenge of solving a logic problem.

He's also a HUGE gamer. Loves them all - first-person shooters, strategy, arcade, adventure games, etc. His love of gaming and puzzles goes well beyond just video games. It includes board games, jigsaw puzzles, RPGs, and the variety puzzle magazines. Don't expect to find only one type of game at Hidden Sanctum. People don't fit into one specific category and we're no exception. If we think it will be a fun game, we'll do it.

Eric has spent a number of years programming in the corporate world which gave him with a great deal of business knowledge and experience, but felt the desire to pursue his true love of games and doing more challenging code without restrictions. So in late 2005, he resigned his position to focus full time on making Hidden Sanctum a reality.

Vlad

While Hidden Sanctum was still in it's very early stages, Eric did some beta testing work on Scratches by Nucleosys. It was there that he first ran into Vlad who did music and some sounds for Scratches, although all of the few conversations they did have were all related to the beta testing. It wasn't until nearly a year later when Agustin Cordes of Nucleosys suggested to Eric that he should ask Vlad if he would be interested in doing the sound and music for Pieces of Eight that things really started to evolve. While Eric had just seen Vlad as a sound and music guy, it became very apparent early on that he shared the same love of games and coding. Having Vlad join the Hidden Sanctum team was a no-brainer.

Vlad's addiction to games began in late 80's with text adventures and other games on ATARI ST system. The addiction quickly grew dissatisfied with the role of a player, Vlad quickly found his way through murky waters of programming languages and audio production software, mostly in the corporate world. But deep in (the ruins of what used to be) his soul, Vlad is really just a gamer. FPS addict (actually, Doom addict - is there any other FPS? No? Thought so.), sound designer and wielder of arcane programming symbols. He can be found scaling swamps and damp forests in dirty, torn rags, sporting a shiny laptop and muttering words of forgotten languages of ASM, C++, PHP and other Unnamables.
