This is far enough along and close enough to completion to start discussing it.

Some specs:

- 1024x768 Screen Resolution
- Windows XP (98? we'll see when the testers try it)
- OpenGL graphics and sound
- Ambient sounds and effects by Cellar of Rats
- I'll get more details as we test it on lower end PCs.

Some specifics:
- Choose one of 8 factions to play. Each with their own unique abilities.
- Take command of your own starship as you plunder the galaxy.
- Invade and conquer planets you discover along the way while exploiting their resources.
- Invest in technologies to increase your strength, improve your production, or lay waste to your enemies.
- Launch probes to explore different sectors in advance of your starship
- Send out spies to steal technology or report on the enemies strengths and weaknesses.
- Buy and sell resources on the open market.
- Issue forth saboteurs to weaken your enemy in advance of your attack.
- Balance your population between Engineers, Miners, Farmers, and Soldiers.
- Manage your resources to build your ship into a juggernaut.
- Turn-based. Take your time and plan your strategy.

Hopefully in the next day or two. There are two screens I'm not happy about.  They looked too 'wordy' and confusing IMO. I'm trying to clean them up with a simpler design that essentailly does the same thing.  I'm a bit anxious to show them ASAP, but I have to force myself to hold off until all of the design work is done so people will get a clearer picture of the final product.  I don't think it will be more than a day or two (for the screenshots).

Which reminds me, I did for get one important game detail - it's turn based. Let me add that in...

Turn Base....Humm sort of like an RPG? I need all the time I can get to figure out what I need to do and you said that we would have time to plan our strategy. SO this makes it more enjoyable for me. We like the idea of the probes too. They sound interesting. Cool..... Cool

Not sure about RPGs, they tend to be real time. In Galaxy Nomad you manage your side of things like taking goods to the marketplace and selling them for credits, building more holds on your ship to increase your storage capacity, etc. Then you execute your turn and will get a summary of how many goods you manufactured, whether a research has been completed, your probe reaching a sector, a new planet being discovered, etc. The turn execution will stop if a battle is encountered or you chose to initiate one during your turn.  In the case of a battle, you can choose to continue the fight or retreat if your losses are getting too heavy.

The technology you can research has 170 levels in total spread out over 17 different research areas.  Hopefully I'll put up some screenshots later this evening. If not tonight, then difinitely tomorrow (fingers crossed).

Hi
No we change e-mail address and I did an up-date on the profile but I haven't heard a word from any one that I sent it out to. I'll check to make sure my profile is right and then send you a P.M. again.
